Today is day 22 of my 60 day juice fast (it is also my dad's 50th birthday, so happy happy birthday Dad!). I'm feeling fantastic and absolutely enjoying life. This week I've lost a total of 4lbs; weighing in at 166! That is a total of 19lbs in 3 weeks!
I keep getting asked what has changed with me; let me share with everyone!
-I've learned to listen to my body and know the difference between hunger and thirst.
-I sleep like a rock! Not only do a sleep good, but my dreams are very vivid and I have a lot of them in one night.
-I wake up feeling fully rested. It is easy for my to get out of bed (even at 6 am)
-I'm thinking more clearly.
-I've lost inches from every single part of my body (and I don't miss any of it!)
-I used to snore really bad; I no longer have a snoring issue.
-Walking up the stairs in now an easy task.
-I love fruits and vegetables
-I'm filled with energy.
-I'm finally at peace with myself. I may not be at my goal yet, but I've finally learned how to love my body. I'm finally giving my body love, by giving it nutrients.
I've made some very tasty juices this week. one of my favorites is supposed to taste like a peach cobbler. It was so tasty!
1 raw sweet potato
1 handful of blueberries
2 peaches
1 red apple
a dash of cinnamon
I also juiced yellow squash last night. It was really enjoyable with some carrots and bell peppers!
I also keep getting asked if this juice fast is hard to do. It is a whole heck of a lot easier than waking up every morning unhappy with my body, my decisions, and my health. It's easier than having a weak immune system. It's easier than running a high risk for diabetes. It's easier than worrying about cancer. Yes, it's easy. Some days are difficult, but this is so much easier than all of that.
Thanks for all of your support. I love you guys. Keep juicing!

I can personally testify that Haley hated all fruits and vegetables as a child. I can't believe this is my granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteI heard a similar reference to eating clean and healthy at a vegan seminar I attended. Someone said it's so drastic a lifestyle, so hard. The lecturing Dr. said "cancer is drastic, diabetics is drastic, heart disease is drastic."
Hang in there, Haley. You are doing so well!
Thanks granny :) I was actually craving a green apple last night. Weird huh?
DeleteI found your blog through Pinterest and have a few questions. do you have any good recipes that make a large amount of juice to where I could also drink it the next day? Eating healthy is expensive, but we have a local Aldi's store close by that runs good sales, so I will shop there. Also, do you snack on anything in between drinks? Or do you just fill up on water and that keeps you satisfied? I'm sure I'll have several other questions as I think of them. You truly are an inspiration....I just HAVE to make myself do this! Why do I keep putting it off??!?! I love your results and am sure I would see results too, but I can't get the jumpstart I need!
ReplyDeleteHello! I'm truly glad that you were able to find my blog through Pinterest! I wasn't sure if I would be able to reach out to anyone that way! To answer some of your question; there is absolutely no snacking. It is all juice :) I drink 5 16oz juices a day and about a gallon of water a day. I also drink unsweetened herbal tea. The first few days I was very hungry, but now that more than satisfies me. Juicing is a way to give your digestive system a break, so eating foods it has to break down defeats that purpose. It's not as expensive as you may think. I spend about $60 a week. Most people spend that amount of money just going out to eat a couple times a week. I usually make enough juice for a day and a half or so. You need to get a "rainbow" of different juices in one day. I usually have a 2 green juices, 2 orange color juices, and 1 red juice in a day. My green juices are sweet, my orange ate savory, and my red is now beets and citrus. I don't really follow any recipes very close. I just throw things together that sounds good. Always make sure to get a variety of different fruits and veggies. You need your juices to be mainly vegetables. I could not get my butt in gear, so to speak, for a very long time. This is the perfect jump start to lead to a health life. You'll need to make sure that after the fast you don't go back to old habits. You'll need to have a diet that is 90% plant based. Feel free to email me any time with questions. Healthyhaley60@gmail.com. I'm always open to help guide you through your journey. I hope this helps!

Ps watch "fat sick and nearly dead" as well as "hungry for change"
